The wardrobe edit service started because a customer asked Margot to come and look at her wardrobe before she bought anything new. That was in 2021. Since then we have done these appointments regularly, and the ones that go best are the ones where the client has done a little preparation beforehand.

Pull everything out first

The most useful thing you can do before we arrive is to take everything out of the wardrobe and lay it on the bed or a rail. Not to sort it, just to see it all at once. Most people have not looked at their full wardrobe in one go for years. It changes the conversation. We are not there to judge what you own. We are there to help you see it more clearly.

Include the things you never wear

Do not hide the pieces you feel guilty about. The things you bought and never wore are often the most useful data points. They tell us something about the gap between what you think you want and what you actually reach for. We will not make you feel bad about them. We will ask you why you bought them and what stopped you wearing them, and that conversation is usually more useful than anything else.

What we cover in the two hours

We work through everything systematically: what fits well, what does not, what is worth altering, what has run its course. We look at how pieces work together and where the gaps are. We are not trying to sell you a new wardrobe. The written summary we send afterwards will include specific notes on each category, and any suggestions for new pieces will be specific rather than general.

After the appointment

The written summary arrives within three days. If you want to come into the shop afterwards, we will have a clear brief and can pull pieces before you arrive. There is no obligation to buy anything. Some clients find the edit is enough on its own and do not need to add anything new. That is a good outcome too.
